L'Occitane Light Comforting Cream (5% Shea Butter) ~ #Review

Can you believe that I have never heard of L'Occitane until a few years ago.  It was when they were giving away their mini size hand cream through their Facebook Page.  It was a great marketing stunt on their part because I have totally fallen in love with their infamous Shea 20% hand cream.  I know you might think $30 is pretty steep for a 100ml tube of hand cream.  Mark my words it is one of the best and I love using it all the time.  There have been a few times I was able to get it at a discount here or there over the years so keep your eyes peeled.

I have used many products that has Shea Butter as one of their ingredients but L'Occitane makes it extra addictive.  I think it is the scent, it makes me come back for more.  L'Occitane has launched a few new face skin care products that you might fall in love.  Check out Shea Essential Serum (40ml, $52), Shea Light Comforting Cream (50ml, $30), Shea Cleansing Oil (200ml, $26).

I was very fortunate to try the Shea Light Comforting Cream.  This cream is perfect for this time of the year.  I love the scent and texture.  It has the same scent for all the L'Occitane Shea butter products.  The texture is thicker than I normally use, so I use it in the evenings.  I could feel how hydrate my skin is after using it and it keeps it hydrated all night long.   This is great for normal to combination skin, even sensitive one.  I have combination skin so I have to be careful what to put on my face because some products makes my face feels too greasy.  L'Occitane Shea Light Comforting Cream absorbs fast and leaves no residue leaving it a matte finish.

In 1980 L'Occitane was one of the very first Cosmetic Laboratories to develop a complete skincare range made with Shea Butter.  The range has now become one of the brand's bestsellers.  Shea butter is truly one of nature's most wonderful gifts, a multi-talented ingredient able to take care of all skin's types to cleanse, protect, nourish and moisturize.

The success of L'Occitane's shea butter is shared with the women of Burkina Faso.  Since 1980 shea butter is produced through a sustainable joint-development programme instigated by Olivier Boussan, the founder of the brand.  The United Nations Developement Programme (UNDP) officially recognized L'Occitane in 2013 as an exemplary company for its work with and for the women of Burkina Faso.
