Eaurganic: Real-Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner ~ #Review & #Giveaway

For awhile now, I have been growing out my hair.  I have always had it at shoulder length and wanted to try to grow it out.  I have always liked people with long hair so I thought why couldn't I grow it out.  So its been more than a year since I had it cut and I am always looking for hair products to maintain my hair to keep it soft and silky smooth.

This Eaurganic's real-moisture shampoo & conditioner is not heavy or weights my hair down.  It has a light herbal smell like either thyme or rosemary then it is gone after the rinse.  If you have never used natural ingredients shampoo, don't expect them to lather as much as regular shampoo since that is what strips the moisture in the hair.  It leaves no residue but leaves my hair healthy and silky smooth.  My hair smells nothing except clean and fresh.  The shampoo is so light and gentle that I have even use it on my daughter's hair.  If you are tired of putting unknown chemical into your hair and wanted to use safe products or to try something different, pick up the Eaurganic's real-moisture shampoo & conditioner and see the magic it could do for your hair.

It states that the shampoo & conditioner:
-Relieve dry and itchy scalp to help faster hair growth
-Keep dandruff under control
-Clean colour-treated hair
-Potentially reduce hair loss

Eshakti is Perfect For All Occassion ~ #Review

I had never shopped for clothes online until I saw what eshakti had to offer.  They make clothing for women that changes all the time to keep up with today's fashion.  They have affordable dresses, skirts, and tops for all occasions like weddings, office wear and everyday wear.  I spent hours trying to pick which dress I liked.  First there were so many selections and I was not sure which one would actually fit me.  I find the same size from one company is different from another.  I just don't get it.  I bought a same "size" skirt from Ann Taylor and H&M and H&M does not fit me.  Go figure - and I couldn't return the skirt.

The dress I've ordered from the site over a month ago is no longer there.  Wait...found it!  It being discontinued.  So if you hesitate too long it wont be there anymore.  What is interesting about this site is that your dress could be customized to your proportions (chest, hip, and waist) with a small fee of $7.50 that could make your dress fit you perfectly.    With an additional $7.50 you can change the length of the dress and/or the sleeve type you prefer.  It took my dress approximately 3 weeks to arrive because it is coming from India.  Can you believe it?  An affordable, customization dress without the big price tag.

The dress I picked was prefect for Spring.  It was green, which is the colour for this season with pretty embroideries on it.  The dress also has a elastic smocked back waist that stretches with my proportions easily which was perfect on me.  Would I shop at this site again?  Most definitely.

Eaurganic: Rosemary Lavender Gentle Body Wash ~ #Review

I have been using body washes for a long time and I love to try different scents and textures.  I really like when body lotions leave you hydrated and moisturized after a shower especially during the winter.  However, my hands and body are always dry regardless of the season.

This Eaurganic's rosemary lavender gentle body wash is so amazing that I think everyone should try for themselves.  There is a stronger rosemary scent than lavender but it is barely there after the shower.  It is light and not thick and heavy like other body washes.  The liquid reminds me of baby body wash where its more light and gentle which I believe it is also perfect to be used on my kids.  After the first few washes I noticed my skin had become softer and hydrated and that I didnt need to moisturize after the shower.  Can you believe that?  One of a few brands out there where I don't need to moisturize after a shower.  It is like saving me some time that I don't have.  I can't wait to see what other body wash scents they might launch in the near feature.  Orange?  I love the smell of oranges in the morning.  That will perk me up from my zombie mode.

Eaurganic: Rosemary Lavender Hand & Body Lotion ~ #Review

When I had the chance to review another great Canadian product - Eaurganic: Rosemary Lavender Hand & Body Lotion, I was all over it.  I cannot live without my lotion/cream and this is permanently sitting on my desk.  No matter what kind of weather it is, my skin is dry regardless how much water I drink during the day.  If you love the smell of lavender, you will love this lotion I have discovered.

I have to say this hand & body lotion is amazing.  The scent of the lavender is noticeable at first but it almost dissipates once I rub it into my skin.  It feels amazing on my hands.  I cant believe how soft and smooth my hands are.  I keep on rubbing them just to feel how soft my hands are.  I love it so much I started to rub it on the rest of my body and using it on my daughters.  This light weight lotion is perfect for this summer because it absorbs quickly and is non-greasy.  Even after I washed my hands, my hands still feel soft and smooth.

Eaurganic products are made with minimum of 95% natural ingredients and the plant ingredients are certified to be at least 95% organic.

SPF - Sun Protection Factor ~ Life

I'm no expert or a dermatologist but for the longest time I wondered what SPF stood for, and whether higher a number meant better protection.

It is sunscreen season and we should all wear sunscreen to protect our skin so we stay young and healthy.  Technically we should be wearing it all year round but most people don't stay out long enough for it to matter or like me who don't see the sun because of my hours.

SPF stands for - Sun Protection Factor. So what does that mean?
It tells you how long you can stay in the sun without burning from UVB light.
If you burn under the sun in 30 minutes x 30 SPF = 900 minutes (15 hours) you can stay under the sun without burning.

Sounds great, right?  But there are a number of factors that affect the calculation so it is not necessarily  correct - like most of the time we don't put enough sunscreen on, depending on the time of the day because late afternoon is when the sun is the strongest, and how much sunscreen has been absorbed into your skin.

If you see the term "Broad Spectum" it means it protects your skin from both UVA and UVB

So the big question: Is there a difference between the SPF levels? We have seen SPF 30 to SPF 110.  According to CBC's Marketplace there is really no difference but only increasing the protection by a few percent. SPF 30 gives you 96.7% protection and SPF 70 gives you 98.3%.  Apparently, there is no sunscreen that gives you 100% protection and once applied, we need to re-apply because after a few hours it is gone.  It's recommended to re-apply every two hours.  Overall, there is no reason to spend the extra money for a SPF 110 where there is only a small difference.  So you ask why do they make SPF 110?  One answer is marketing.  We all think higher SPF is better so we shell out the extra few bucks.

The video is a few years old but the theory is still the same.

What are your thoughts?  Which SPF do you purchase?

Vichy's NEW! Nutriextra Extraordinary Oil ~ #Review

I love products that can multi-task, it saves space and time.  As a mother of two it feels like I am always racing against time.  I also have this very narrow space in my room to hold my cosmetics and skin care so saving space is also a bonus for me.

If you are like me, I have dry hair and hands regardless of the weather.  It is not as bad as the winter but it is still uncomfortable.  I'm so glad that Vichy introduces their first extraordinary oil Nutriextra that can bring relief to my dry body and hair.  It could also be used for the face too but my face gets oily easily so I wont be putting this on my face.  But everywhere else is fine.

This golden elixir is made from 9 precious plant oils - muscat rose hip oil, joboba oil, almond & apricot oil, macadamia oil, passion fruit kernel, blackcurrant seed oil, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, and coriander oil.  The texture is like the massaging oil the messieurs use and it has a slight nutty scent - might be from almond or sunflower oil.   I love how it absorbes quickly giving my hands the satiny feel without the greasy feel.  I thought it was OK on my body but I absolutly love it on my hair.  My hair has been crazy dry since I dyed it a few weeks ago.  Rubbing a few sprays into my hair helped bring back its original texture.  I could use the Nutriextra Extraordinary Oil as a mask.  Wow, what a great product.  It is like I purchasing a bunch of products for the price of one.

Vichy's Nutriextra Extraordinary Oil (125ml, $29.50) is hypoallergenic, silicone free, colourant free, fragrance-free formula, and paraben-free.  Available in your local drug stores that sells Vichy products.

Upcoming events in June ~ #HallmarkPressPause

Two major events are happening next month - Father's Day and Graduation.

June 16th is Father's Day and here are my top two products I think every dad would love.

First, I would have to say is the Star Wars: R2D2 Mug with Sound.  Seriously, which dad would not love this mug.  Even I would love to this mug.  OK, maybe it is because I am a nerd and loves Star Wars.  I know my husband would go crazy for this mug...I was told that every time my husband walks by Hallmark he is playing with R2D2 mug.  I think that is a sign for me to get him one?  Hopefully next year they might consider making one with one of the Transformers - Great idea?

Second idea would be the One of a Kind Frame for his desk in the office.  It is different and would stand out and anyone who walks by his desk will take notice and would ask where they could get one.  The instructions to add the photo in the frame are easy to follow.

June also marks the special moments for the graduation classes of 2013.  (I cant remember when the college and university students graduate, but I am assuming it would also be in June.)  This year my daughter will be graduating from Senior Kindergarten   Incredible, I just cant believe it - she is growing up way too fast for me.  Hallmark has great graduate gifts from mugs to gift card holders.  My personal favourite which I would most likely be using is the Pics 'N' Props graduation celebration kit.  There are 22 photo props where the grads hold while I take their pictures.  I think it is adorable and creative, and is something my daughter would remember.

Have fun this June and remember to drop by Hallmark to check out their Father's Day and Graduation section.

Marcelle: Eye makeups ~ Review

I'm always looking for great eye makeup products because I need my eyes to stand out and not remain hidden behind my eyewear.  I have oily skin so I need to wear primer to make my makeup last throughout the day.

Marcelle has this great velvety eye shadow and also a primer which comes in 6 colours.  This eye shadow states it "offers an exclusive creamy formula with ingredients that are safe for the delicate skin around the eye area."  This could be worn as a primer or on its own and it said it will last more than 12 hours.

I tried the Marcelle's rose velvety eye shadow + primer (4.5 ml, $15.95) and used it under my usual eye shadow since it was not bold enough.  It just blended into my skin and you could barely see it. I have worn it for half a day and am surprised by how much it held up my eye shadow.  It was not irritating and didn't melt from my skin.

To make my eyes to pop out, I use an eyeliner to outline my eye.  This Marcelle's Kajal Kohl (2.4g, $11.95) is the blackest of black and it made my eyes larger and more dominate.  This eyeliner is more chunky than usual liners and it has a long pointy tip that they proclaims allows for easy and extra precise application.

I did like the size since it is easier to hold than the skinny ones.  The liner is shorter so it allows better control when I am making the outline of my eye.  This eye liner is very black and there is no question how it made my eyes stand out.  I could make my eyes look like Elizabeth Taylor's Cleopatra.  It is waterproof and it said it could hold up for at least 6 hours on the waterline.  In order to maintain the long pointy tip is to use the special sharpener that is available exclusively online for $2.95.  I wish it actually came with the eye liner.  Not sure why it is sold separately.  It made more sense to make it a combo.  I was not watching the clock but the eye liner did held on for sometime without melting away.

I have tried many mascara over the years and there are only a few that do not irritate my eyes and one of the is made by Marcelle.  This twist push-up mascara (7ml, $13.50) is like a push-up bra but for your lashes.  It claims that it is design to "push them upwards to provide instant volume."  First apply the mascara in its regular position (extended brush) then tighten the brush by twisting the end of the brush and apply it as a second coat to add maximum volume.

I was amazed at how much I love this mascara.  It was easy to use and didn't irritate my eyes after wearing it for a few hours.  It is like owning two different mascara for the price of one.  It does appear to make my lashes more prominent.  I had no problem removing the mascara when I was using eye makeup remover.

After trying these eye makeup I knew Marcelle would not disappoint.  It is great to know a brand is watching out for people with sensitive eyes.  I like to stay away from blood-shot eyes from allergic reaction or raccoon eyes.  Marcelle makes a girl looks her best.

The eye shadow primer and the kohl eyeliner has antioxidant, waterproof, crease-proof, hypo-allergenic, perfume free, paraben free, and it was tested under ophthalmological control.

The mascara is hypo-allergenic, perfume free, suitable for contact lens wearers, and tested under ophthalmological control.

Stuck on You: Getting Ready for Camp ~ PR & Giveaway

Can you believe school will be out in six weeks?  SIX!  I can't believe her school year is almost over and it felt like she just started...  Once again this summer I have already planned out my daughter's schedule and she will be busy with multiple of camps that she will be attending.

What better way to get ready for camp then to use Stuck on You.  They have two great camp packages that have everything you need - Camp Label Pack (C$59.95) and Camp Sleep Away Pack (C$69.95).  Personally, my daughter is still a bit young for overnight camps so camp labels pack are more ideal for us.

This pack has enough labels to last me through out the summer.  It even has shoe labels for her rain boots or extra pair of shoes when she needs to change out of them when they are indoors.  Not only does it reduces the risk of my daughter losing her items, but it also reduces the teachers confusion to know who is who's.  If she is there only for a week, the teachers would not remember who belongs to who.  I don't think the camps wants a mountain of stuff left over from the kids and parents don't like to repurchase clothing when they don't have to.  Not only they have personalized labels but also personalized napsacks, pencils, and water bottles to name a few.

Stuck on You is having a party.  25% storewide + free shipping.  Promo code is PARTY1.  This great deal ends Monday, June 3rd, 2013.  Happy Shopping.

Stuck on You would like to offer five (5) of my readers $20 vouchers to help with them this summer.

This giveaway will run from May 18 to June 8th, 2013 (midnight EST).  Winner, You have 72 hours to reply.  You must be 18+ Canadians Only.  Good Luck!

PGX part 1~ Review

After so many years, my weight still bounces around.  It always happens that during my maternity leave I was able to lose most of the baby weight I have gained, even it was over 50+ pounds for each kid.  I am always running around, doing things, on the go, go, go.  Now that I am back to work, I have slowly gained weight.

I believe every one has heard of PGX or seen them in the drug stores.  I kinda knew it was for weight loss but haven't looked them up until now.  PGX has offered to let me to try them out for 3 months using their soft gels, whey protein powder, and daily granules.  I couldn't wait to try them out since I will be using them during the spring and summer when I am jogging again.

What is PGX?
In plain English, a plant fiber that is grounded down that expands in water to make you fuller and less hungry.  It also helps to control your sugar level that leads to less snacking and cravings.  The key to make this work is to drink plenty of water.  It is not a diet pill but an assistance to weight loss plan or diet to work better.

Understand that there is no way for me to lose the amount of weight I want in a few short weeks.  It will be a process and adjustment to once again daily exercise and consume only 1,200 calories per day.

I have started a routine of running at least three times a week as well as taking PGX 3 times a day.   The running was tough since I haven't run for at least two years and getting back to it was rough.  All I can do is do shorter routes and then add to it as I get back into the groove of things.  All I can do is one pound at a time.

I will keep you posted on the progress.

Life Without Plastic: Freezycup ~ Review & giveaway

Spring is finally here and I could smell it when everyone is breakout their BBQ and cooking up some delicious meals.  One of our family favourites during Spring and Summer months are freezies...well, mostly my daughter's favourites.  If she had a choice she would continue no-stop eating them.  It is silly when I am purchasing them when is it just fruit juice in a bag when I could make them myself.  I never found the right tools to make them at home until now.

Life Without Plastic introduces Freezycups that is made of stainless steel instead of the usual plastic ones.  Making your own freezies is more healthier (less sugar), more economical, and the ability to create so many different freezies that is not available in stores.

Life Without Plastic are activists for a plastic free planet.  They sell a wide arrange of quality products that are plastic free that are ideal for every day uses.

For my first time making popsicles, I will be using simple apple juice then maybe afterwards I would experiment with other ingredients like making coconut flavour freezes.  There are not many coconut flavoured popsicle out there.  The possibilities are endless and simple to make.  I could make avocado freezes, nutella fudgesicles, or even cherry yogurt.  My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

I let the apple juice freeze over night and the next day I gave it to my daughter to try.  She ate it in record time and asked for more.  She is a freeze eating machine so I made a few list of juices I would be purchase on my next groceries run.  It was easy to use and clean.  I also like the pop stick made of bamboo and be able to re-use it instead of throwing it away.  The freezecups are perfect for my family and the only thing I wish comes in a bigger size.

Freezycups are sold individually (C$7.95)and comes with 3 reusable bamboo sticks and 2 silicone gaskets.  Dishwasher safe.  Dimesions 10.5 x 5.5 cm / 4" x 2", capacity 100ml / 3.5 oz and ideal for children ages 3 and up.  Made responsibly in China

Life without Plastic would like to offer one of my readers their own two (2) Freezycups to try at home.

Biore Acne Clearing Scrub & Deep Cleasing Pore Strip ~ Review

I was invited to meet and greet the infamous Olympic Figure Skater, Joannie Rochette's.  Due to family obligations I couldn't attend.  However, they were so nice to send me a few products to try at home.

I'm not different than any other women who strives to find the perfect skin.  Over the years, I have tried many products to give me the best results.  There was a survey done by 1,000 Canadian women across Canada ages 15 to 29 confesses that clear skin gives them confidence to help them achieve personal goals and life hurdles.

Biore developed a two step program, (yes only two),  to give every women the clear skin they want.  The two step is the daily use of the Acne Clearing Scrub and the weekly use of the Deep Cleansing Pore Strips.

It proclaims that your skin would be visibly clearer and healthier-looking after just 48 hours.  I have to admit, my face does feel much better after each use.  The scrub is gentle on my skin and I could feel the mandarin and mint formula working, making my skin feel refreshed and clean.  This scrub is perfect for me since it does not dry out my face making it irritated and uncomfortable.  I use it every morning and I don't think I can live without it.  In the past I have used the orginial Deep Cleansing Pore Strip but didnt think it work.  However, I have found this Ultra Deep Cleansing Strips works like magic.  Don't think you want the details...it might gross you out.  I wish it comes in a bigger size so it could cover my cheek bone too!  It would be amazing if they would be a mask pore strips.

The Biore Acne Clearing Scrub and the Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are available at mass retailers like Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, and Walmart across Canada for a suggested retail price of $9.99 - $14.99.

göt2b Beach Tripping Waving Spray ~ Review

After this long winter of battling through snow, snow pants, boots, mittens and hats, Spring is finally here, but also hoping there won't be any humidity...wishful thinking.  I have always wanted hair like in Baywatch but wonder how I could get the same glamours, bouncy, shiny hair.  If you don't know Baywatch, pretend you do or you are just making me feel old.  It is possible I may have found their secret and this bottle could deliver the same wavy look.

göt2b introduces Beach Tripping salt-infusion Waving Spray to add some fun for this summertime hair.  It is infused with natural salt that will give you the "right amount of rough matte texture and 'piecey' dimension for enviable mermaid strands.  Not to mention, added moisturizers will help prevent dryness with continued use over time."

You have the option of spraying on dry or damp hair, then either scrunch, tousle  or just let the summer wind do it thing.  I have tried it on dry hair and scrunch it through out my hair.  It has no smell, its light weight, no residue feel, and when I sprayed it on my hand, I could see there is a hint of shimmer in the spray.  My hair is known to be flat and dry but this adds a little life into it.  My hair does not feel dry and there is no crunch when I run my hand through my hair.  Since I don't live close to a salt water beach this is the closest thing a girl could have.

göt2b Beach Tripping salt-infusion Waving Spray (200ml) are available since March 2013 for suggested retail price between $7.99 to $9.99 each at stores including Shoppers Drug Mart, Walmart, Pharma Plus, Loblaws, Jean Coutu and Target Canada.

Mother's Day with Hallmark ~ #HallmarkPressPause

I think this is the best video I have seen that just tears me up every time I watch it.  If you haven't seen it, where have you been?  This clearly shows how much our mother's (or a mother type figure) means to us.

This Sunday, May 12th, 2013 would be Mother's Day and Hallmark is there to help.  From Mother's Day cards to wonderful gifts to show our mothers how much we love them.

Here are my top two Hallmark gift ideas I think would be great for this Mother's Day
One of a Kind Mom's Frame
This cute little photo frame has instructions on how to add a photo that would fit into the frame.  I think this is very unique that I would love to have this sitting at the office.

Perpetual Calendar Frame
It is a very cute calendar that could be used for years.  Another item that would sit nicely at the office.

Don't forget to purchase a Hallmark card to tell your mom how much she means to you.

Guess who is turning 25 ~ Review & Sweepstakes

No, no, I am not turning 25.  I wish I was but those days are long gone.  It's President's Choice -The Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie is turning 25.  Can you believe these iconic chocolate chip cookies have been around that long?  I have been eating these cookies as long as I can remember.  Regardless of whether it was a birthday party or treats to take to school, these were - and are -  popular in my household.

Back in 1987, a team from PC wanted to create the best homemade chocolate cookies that everyone would enjoy again and again.  They discovered that the best chocolate chip cookies have more chocolate than the leading brand.  Even my daughter knew that - more chocolate means everything tastes better.

These cookies are so popular they bake approximately 3.6 million cookies daily, a lot of cookie goodness.  PC's The Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie is the number one selling cookie across their stores.

In celebrating PC's The Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies 25th anniversary, you will see in stores a limited edition cookie tin available starting in May (while quantity last).  The tin contains two (400g) full size bag of yummy decadent chocolate chip cookies for $6.99.  If your household is like mine, these cookies will not stand a chance.

After the release of PC's The Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies there has been more The Decadent mouth watering goodies like - The Decadent Pizza, The Decadent Refridgerated Salad Dressing, The Decadent Ice Cream Sandwiches, and The Decadent Molten Chocolate Chip Cookie to name a few and expecting more in the horizon.

Want to win a package of cookies? Share your little victory over at http://pc.ca/en_CA/thedecadent25.html#  If you have been picked, they will treat you a package of PC cookies.  Click on "Why you deserve a cookie".

David's Tea: Spring Collection ~ Review & Giveaway

If I didn't need to work, I would rather be sitting in a cafe sipping one of David's Teas and blogging and entering contests online.  Most likely in that order.  It does seem that Spring is finally here.  I thought it will never arrive since not too long ago we had snow.   Cest La Vie, we live in Canada.  David's Tea knows Spring has arrived and launched their new limited edition spring collection to get everyone in the mood for warmer weather.

The spring collection ($25.50) contains 5 new teas:

  • copabanana (25g) Feature ingredients - Banana & cocoa
  • daydreamer (25g) Feature ingredient - mango
  • pom tango (25g) Feature ingredients - pomegranate & mango
  • honeydew mate (25g) Feature ingredient - hibiscus
  • coconut oolong (25g) Feature ingredient - coconut

David's Tea would like to take you on a adventure through each of the tea.  Copabanana to Havana, Daydreamer to Thailand, Pom tango to India, Honeydew mate to Argentina, and Coconut oolong any Paradise in the world.

You can all guess that the first tea I tried was the Coconut Oolong.  This one is to to die for.  It has a medium scent of coconuts and there is only a hint of taste of the coconut.  Wished it was stronger but it still tastes great.  I couldn't get enough of this.  Definiately, I will have to go back for more of this delicious tea (and which I did).

The other tea I also did enjoy was the Pom Tango because it has mango in it - yum, yum.  Once I opened the bag, the scent just hits me of mango and made my mouth watered.  I have found this tea tastes better when it is cooled.  It might be because the taste of the mango is more definitive.  Afterwards, I even dug out the freeze-dried mango from the tea leaves and popped them in my mouth.  I couldn't waste it.

Copabanana also tastes great.  I love the sweet banana taste.  Daydreamer is another mango flavoured tea.  I rarely drink green tea but add mango and guava - I couldn't stop drinking it.  The  honeydew mate is a natural stimulant tea so I made sure to drink this only in the mornings.  It was a soothing and refreshing drink to start my day.

The ingredients used have brought me thinking of all those coconut, mango, and melon I would be devouring this summer.  Don't hesitate on purchasing this collection before it is gone.

Lovable Labels: Party Packs ~ Review & Giveaway

I can't believe my daughter will be turning two this summer.  It just happened so fast.  She is growing up a lot faster than I wanted her to.  Its a good thing I still have time before she asks for the car keys.

I am already drumming up some plans for her birthday party and thinking what to put in the swag bags for the kiddies to take home.  I know I will be including Lovable Labels NEW! Party Packs which includes:
6 Sticker Labels
2 Shoe Labels
8 Press n' Stick Clothing Dots
1 Mini-Metal Tag (incl one 4" silver ball chain)
(Minimum purchase of 6 is required)

Most items in the loot bags will be either eaten, tosses, broken, or left behind.  These would be useful and could be used everyday.  These are good quality labels that are dishwasher, microwave, waterproof, and UV resistance.  They have many great designs to choose from and I ended picking the owl since this is a co-ed birthday party.

Don't forget, you can save an additional 10% if you use my Love Bug coupon code - CeciliaLB3
